The Consell de Mallorca has started the works to renovate and improve the safety of the road between Selva and Mancor. An action that has a budget of €882,892 and is part of the plan to improve the secondary network of Mallorca.
The works are intended to undertake a reinforcement of the road surface to replace asphalt that has deteriorated and works will be carried out to improve drainage and prevent the accumulation of water. Mixed safety barriers, made of steel and wood, will also be placed in some places to improve the safety of the road. The works are expected to be finished at the beginning of October.
The regional minister for Territory, Mobility and Infrastructure, Fernando Rubio, explained that this action “is part of the plan we have in the Consell de Mallorca to improve the network of secondary roads and that, in the coming months, different packages of works to reinforce the road surface will be put out to tender throughout the island with a budget of €20m.” Rubio added: “These are roads like the one we visited today… where it is necessary to carry out works, since the maintenance tasks are insufficient.”
