Problems at the PAC, Health Centre Alcudia

The situation of the two health centres in the municipality, the one in Alcudia and the one in Port d’Alcudia, remains critical two months after both the PSOE and Unides Podem denounced that users have to wait more than a month to receive the first appointment with the family doctor. In the November plenary session it was noted that the problem remains unresolved and complaints from residents are increasing.

Complaints about the long waits to be seen by the family doctor in both Alcudia and Port d’Alcudia were discussed at the last plenary session of the Alcudia Town Hall last week, where the PI councillor, Domingo Bonnín, asked the governing team about this situation that had caused concern among residents. Councillor Carme García explained that the IBSalut had been informed of the situation months ago but that it did not have the staff to send replacements. This month of November all the places have been filled and it is expected that in a few weeks the accumulated requests to see the family doctor will be up to date.

Sources from IBSalut explain that what has happened in Alcudia from mid-summer to the beginning of November has been due to a series of circumstances that have coincided in time. “At the same time there have been staff on sick leave, other health workers who have left their post in Alcudia after the recent competitive examination process, and in addition all this has happened during the summer months, when there are staff on holiday; these days all the positions have been filled again and the appointments will soon return to normal.”
