Today, Alcúdia has returned to experience with intensity and emotion one of the most unique events of the Easter calendar: the traditional Procession of the Three Little Boats, celebrated in front of the Town Hall and framed within the acts of Easter Sunday.
The mayor, Josefina Linares, accompanied by the councilors of the town hall, participated in this very special celebration, sharing with neighbors and visitors one of the most significant moments of Holy Week in Alcúdia.
This celebration, which symbolizes the joy of the Resurrection after the days of reflection during Holy Week, has filled the streets with people, in an atmosphere that combined the solemnity proper to tradition with the festive and hopeful spirit of Easter.
After the more austere and silent processions of the previous days, characteristic of Mallorcan tradition, today’s event has stood out for its more luminous and participatory character. The symbolic gesture of the “botets,” which gives its name to the procession, has again become one of the most anticipated moments, experienced with enthusiasm by those who attended.
However, the celebration has shown the importance of keeping local traditions alive, which form part of the cultural and representative heritage of Alcúdia, and which bring together the community in the spirit of carrying out significant tasks.
