Alcudia City Council acquires the "La Solada" estate, within the Pol·lèntia archaeological site
A week into September, the mayor of Alcudia, Fina Linares, signed before a notary the purchase and sale of the estate located in polygon 4,
plot 412, within the Pol·lèntia archaeological site. Known as “La Solada,” the plot has an area of approximately 20,000 square meters.
The purchase price was €220,000, of which €100,000 came from a grant from the Consell de Mallorca for the acquisition of land with archaeological sites on the island.
The Council of Alcudia is now in the process of drafting the Special Plan for the Pollentia Archaeological Zone. The purchase is part of the municipal strategy to acquire land that sits within the archaeological area and reclaim it from private hands.
The objective of this initiative is to promote recognition of the Pollentia complex, ensuring its preservation, restoration, study, research, awareness, and dissemination, as well as public access to the site. At the same time, it contributes to increasing the municipality’s historical and cultural offerings and strengthening Alcudia’s commitment to the protection and promotion of its heritage.
