A new rescue simulation in Mallorca has explored how drones could help emergency services respond more quickly to incidents at sea.

The exercise, carried out on a beach in Alcúdia, brought together a drone, jet ski and the local Public Rescue Service to test how the technology could support a real-life rescue.
How Did the Exercise Work?
The simulation involved using a drone to locate a person in difficulty and drop a flotation device into the water. A jet ski was then deployed as part of the coordinated response, with the person eventually brought safely back to shore.
