One of Alcúdia’s most colourful and family-friendly traditions returns with the annual Festa de les Llanternes.
The celebration sees children create traditional lanterns by carving patterns and shapes into hollowed-out melons, before placing a candle or light inside. Once night falls, the young participants take to the streets of Alcúdia Old Town in a lantern procession through its historic centre, accompanied by traditional Mallorcan songs.
The evening concludes with a festive finale featuring balloon drops and sweets thrown from local balconies.
