Sa Rua - Campanet

Campanet Carnival (Carnestoltes) is the town’s traditional pre-Lent celebration full of community spirit, costumes, workshops and parades. In Campanet, Carnival isn’t just one day — it includes creative events for all ages such as decoration workshops, costume making and a main “Sa Rua” street parade where locals and visitors gather in costume to walk and celebrate together in the Plaça Major and through the streets of the village.

The programme typically features family-friendly activities, lively procession routes and a festive atmosphere centred around community participation and creativity, reflecting Mallorca’s broader Carnival traditions of colourful costumes, music, and social celebration before the quieter period of Lent begins.

07/02 – at 10:30am in the Placa Major there is a decoration workshop for children.

11/02 – at 17:00 there is a sardine workshop to decorate your own sardine at the Library Miquel dels Sants Oliver, there are limited places so email biblioteca@ajcampanet.net to get your spot.

12/02 – at 16:15 in placa de Son Puca everyone meets and at 16:30 the route begins.

14/02 – day of the Rua – at 17:30 everyone meets at placa de Son Bordoi and at 1800 the route begins. Followed by a fiesta with DJ Toni Pascual

17/02 – burial of the sardine – at 19:00 everyone gathers at Placa Major to bury the sardines following the ritual.
