In the port of Pollença, the festival of Sant Pere, patron saint of fishermen and of the original vicariate, is celebrated.
For a few days, around June 29, folk dances, bagpipe gatherings, concerts, tributes to former fishermen, habaneras, and the maritime fair fill the streets of Port de Pollença.
At the beginning of the 20th century, this festival was celebrated in the village, but shortly before the 1930s it moved to Port de Pollença, as most of the fishermen settled in this new population center. At that time, it was the unofficial patron saint’s day of Port de Pollença. However, after the creation of the new parish dedicated to Our Lady of Mount Carmel, the patron saint festivities were held in honor of the Virgin Mary on July 16th.
THURSDAY, JUNE 25
- 9:30 p.m. — OUTDOOR MOVIE NIGHT at the intersection of Paseo Saralegui and Avenida París, featuring a screening of La luz de Aisha (family-friendly animated film in Catalan). Directed by: Shadi Adib. Organized by: Department of Culture.
FRIDAY, JUNE 26
• 9:30 p.m. — OUTDOOR MOVIE NIGHT at the intersection of Paseo Saralegui and Avenida París, featuring a screening of *Muy Lejos* (in Catalan with Spanish subtitles). Directed by Gerard Oms. Organized by: Department of Culture.
SATURDAY, JUNE 27
• 8:00 p.m. — PARADE featuring the giants of Pollença and l’Esbart de Sant Jordi, accompanied by the Xeremiers Orats. The parade will start at Miquel Capllonch Square and end at Moll Vell.
• 9:00 p.m. — CHARITY “PA AMB OLI” at Moll Vell to benefit ABAIMAR.
• 9:30 p.m. — FOLK DANCE at Moll Vell featuring Aires de la Cala.
SUNDAY, JUNE 28
• 12:30 p.m. — COMMEMORATIVE CEREMONY at the RCNPP marking the 50th anniversary of the Port of Pollença Nautical Week. Presentation of awards and acknowledgments to all collaborating organizations.
• 7:30 p.m. — PARADE featuring the Soldà Bugle and Drum Corps. The parade will start at Miquel Capllonch Square and end at Moll Vell.
• 8:00 p.m. — COMMUNITY SARDINE BARBECUE at Moll Vell, featuring entertainment by the Xeremiers Orats. (Please bring your own plate, glass, and utensils.)
• 10:00 p.m. — STREET PARTY featuring the band Red Bellies at Moll Vell.
MONDAY, JUNE 29
• 11:00 a.m. — SOLEMN MASS at the Mare de Déu del Carme parish church.
• 12:00 p.m. — OFFICIAL CEREMONY at Moll Vell, where there will be a light meal
