The works on the new Health Centre in Pollensa are progressing at a good pace and will be completed after the summer.
Health Centre in Pollensa has a budget of €4,235,000 - the main structure and roof have already been built.
​​The Director General of the Health Service, Javier Ureña, visited the site of the new Health Centre in Pollensa (the new local PAC) this week. The new building, which received an investment of €4,235,000, will significantly improve the current facilities, which have become small and obsolete. Â
​During the visit, Javier Ureña was accompanied by the mayor of the municipality, Martà March, the deputy director of Infrastructure and General Services of the Health Service, Xisco Bosch, and the manager of Primary Care of Mallorca, Carlos Raduán. Members of the construction company also attended. Â
The works began in February last year and the main structure and roofs have already been built. The façades, interior partitions, installations, finishes and interior development are currently in the execution phase. The works are expected to be completed in September this year. Â
​ ​The contract to build the infrastructure was formalized with the company Proyecon Galicia. The new Health Centre is located on the Can Conill site —on Cecili Metel Street— and will have a surface area of ​​2,012 m2 —more than triple the current one, which has 623 m2. It will also have a parking space of 882 m2. Â
​ ​The new centre will have a consultation area, where there will be the following consultation rooms: six general medicine, seven nursing, one pediatric, one pediatric nursing and two multipurpose (for spirometry and ultrasound). On the ground floor, a space of about 300 m2 will be allocated to the continuous care point (PAC), with two emergency consultations, a critical care box, a care room, a minor surgery room and a space for emergency service professionals. Â
The new Centre will also have an area dedicated to obstetric care (with a midwife’s office), a rehabilitation area (with two physiotherapy offices) and an oral health unit (with a dentistry office and another hygienist office). Â
​CS Pollensa belongs to the basic health area with the same name and has 10,434 health cards attached. The Basic Health Unit (UBS) Puerto Pollensa depends on this centre. Â
The construction of the new health centre is part of the Health Service’s Health Investment Plan (2024-2027). The renovation of health infrastructure is one of the fundamental axes to modernize and strengthen primary care and its capacity for healthcare resolution and prevention.Â
