Hundreds of residents and visitors took part in the traditional Alcúdia Ràdio Popular Walk and the II Diversity Walk “Una Passa, Mil Colors” on 23 June as part of the Festes de Sant Pere i Mare de Déu de la Victòria.
The event also formed part of the celebrations marking the 35th anniversary of Alcúdia Ràdio, bringing together participants of all ages for an evening focused on community spirit, inclusion and participation.
The walk began at Platja des Clot before continuing through various points in Alcúdia and Port d’Alcúdia, with participants joining along the route. The Giants of Alcúdia welcomed walkers on Carrer dels Pins before accompanying them in a parade to Plaça del Varador, where refreshments were provided.
During the event, Councillor for Equality Verónica Caro highlighted the importance of promoting respect, equality and coexistence through education, sport and community activities. Teacher Llorenç Florit also addressed participants, describing diversity as a collective strength and emphasising the role of education in building a more inclusive society.
The evening continued with a performance by the Giants of Alcúdia and live entertainment from Pep Toni Fernández, who is celebrating 25 years on air with his radio programme Un Ferreret en Antena. In recognition of this milestone, he was presented with a commemorative gift by the Department of Culture.
Mayor Fina Linares closed the event by thanking all participants, volunteers and organisations involved, while reaffirming the municipality’s commitment to promoting respect, inclusion and community values.
