La Victòria summer camps begin with more than 600 young people participating.
The president, Llorenç Galmés, and the Minister of the Presidency, Antoni Fuster, visited the Summer Camp facilities and met kids from the first and second week of camp.
The summer camps organized by the Consell de Mallorca at La Victòria, in Alcudia, begin a new edition today with the participation of 642 children and young people who will enjoy an educational and social experience throughout the different scheduled sessions. The space hosts this activity, which has become established as one of the main educational summer leisure activities in Mallorca.Â
On the occasion of the first day of the first and second shifts, aimed at children between the ages of nine and fourteen, the President of the Consell de Mallorca, Llorenç Galmés, visited the La Victòria facilities, accompanied by the Minister of the Presidency, Antoni Fuster, and the Island Director of Youth, Carmen Ripoll. During the visit, they greeted the participants and the team of instructors, and toured the various areas of the camp.Â
"These summer camps are much more than a summer activity. They are an opportunity to grow in coexistence, to discover the natural environment, and to reinforce essential values ​​such as respect, solidarity, and responsibility. Furthermore, with this year's new features, we are moving toward a model of emotional and digital education that responds to the real needs of our young people."
The La Victòria summer camps, which this year are held under the theme “The sea as a source of Mallorcan life and culture,” offer an educational experience that highlights Mallorca’s historical, cultural, and environmental relationship with the sea. Through this theme, children explore the importance of conserving marine ecosystems, learn about traditional trades linked to the coast, and reflect on the role the sea has played in the island’s identity.Â
Within this framework, leisure and values-based activities are integrated, such as water sports, with options like paddle surfing, and educational evenings. In addition, this year, two outstanding activities are included in the program: a visit to s’Albufera de Mallorca, which will allow participants to experience one of the island’s most emblematic natural spaces up close, and an excursion to the Hermitage of La Victòria, a route that combines physical activity with the discovery of cultural heritage. Â
A specific activity dedicated to emotional management is also included. Designed to address the current needs of children and adolescents, this program will allow for practical and experiential work on aspects such as setting boundaries in a healthy and respectful manner, improving empathy and social skills, and fostering self-awareness and emotional expression.Â
The activity will be led by a specialized psychologist and will feature two performing artists who will help stage everyday situations to facilitate the children’s participation.Â
As part of this commitment to emotional and social well-being, the camps will also include a cybersecurity session led by the Guardia Civil. This talk will allow participants to acquire basic tools for safe internet browsing and identifying digital risks. Â
