The Cellar La Parra in Puerto Pollensa pulled out all the stops last week as it hosted the presentation of the XXII edition of the Pollença Wine Fair, which will be held on the 10th and 11th of May at the Claustre de Santo Domingo.
The official inauguration of the Wine Fair will be on Saturday 10th of May at 10.00h. This first day the opening hours will be uninterrupted from 10.00 to 20.30 h. Sunday it will be from 10 am to 2 pm. The entry price will be €15 and will include a €5 discount voucher for the purchase of wine at the fair.
Regarding the cellars, this year 37 from Mallorca will participate, and three of them will present for the first time. In addition, they all form part of the Denomination of Origin (DO) Plain and Llevant, DO Binissalem and the Protected Geographic Indication (IGP) Wine of the Terra Mallorca.
There will also be representation from the DO Montsant (Priorat de Catalonia), with whom the Primitivo Wine Association collaborates, with around 20 participating cellars. In total, around 250 wines can be tasted.
This year’s poster, from Malena Vilanova, who won the 2025, graphic image competition, contains an old stick as a central motif on a striking background of red wine, evoking the essence of wine.
In addition to the actual Fair, a series of parallel activities will also be held. On Friday, May 9th, at 20h, just outside the Claustre there will be an official welcome concert for the representatives of Falset and the DO Montsant. On Thursday 15th May, at 19h, in the hall of the Royal Club NÃ utic in Puerto Pollensa there will be a round table with the participation of the DO and IGP of Mallorca, which will be moderated by the secretary of Vi Primitiu, Guillem Vicens.
At the presentation, the councilor of Fairs and Economic Impuls, Antoni Canaves, and the mayor of Pollença, Martà March, highlighted that this new edition of the fair the local wine will be the true star. In addition, they both reiterated the participation of more wineries which demonstrates the good health of the local wine sector and the boost it needs to continue to provide them.
