Boat owners with existing mooring authorisations at five Mallorca ports can now apply for a new temporary authorisation, with the application period opening on 1 October.
Â
The process applies to current holders whose existing authorisations are still in force but expire on 31 December 2026. It covers base moorings for List 7 vessels at five ports managed directly by PortsIB: Colònia de Sant Jordi, Es Barcarès, Pollença, s’Oberta and Valldemossa.
Applications are now open
Who needs to apply?
The new process is aimed specifically at people who already hold one of these temporary mooring authorisations. It is not a general opening of new moorings for anyone looking for a berth.
Â
Eligible holders have until 31 December 2026 to submit their application for a new authorisation.
Â
There is an important reason not to leave it until after the deadline. PortsIB states that holders who do not exercise their preferential right to obtain a new authorisation, or who apply outside the established terms, will lose their assigned base mooring and it will be vacated.
How to apply
Applications are available through the PortsIB electronic office, and PortsIB recommends completing the process online.
Â
Those who prefer to apply in person can submit their documentation at the PortsIB central offices at C/ Vicente Tofiño, 36, Coll d’en Rabassa, Palma. Applications can also be submitted through the other methods permitted under Spain’s administrative procedure rules, provided they are received before the 31 December deadline.
Â
For existing mooring holders in Pollença, Colònia de Sant Jordi, Es Barcarès, s’Oberta and Valldemossa, the message is therefore straightforward: if your current authorisation expires at the end of this year and you want to retain your base mooring, the renewal process is now open.
Â
The deadline for applications is 31 December 2026.
