For the second consecutive year, Alcúdia beach has been awarded the Blue Flag, a recognition that certifies the water quality, safety, accessibility, services, and environmental management. It’s a mark of this stunning natural and public space that makes it one of the best beaches Mallorca has to offer.
This distinction, awarded by the Association for Environmental and Consumer Education (ADEAC), is the result of the joint efforts of Alcúdia Council, municipal services, and the people who make possible the daily maintenance and care of one of the island’s most iconic stretches of coastline.
Stretching over 3km, Alcúdia beach offers a combination of urban and natural surroundings, with spacious, safe spaces adapted to all residents.
What is the blue flag?
The Blue Flag guarantees compliance with demanding criteria divided into four main areas:
-Water quality, through regular official inspections.
-Safety, with the presence of lifeguard modules, surveillance, and action protocols.
-Accessibility and services, such as access ramps, adapted public restrooms, amphibious chairs and crutches, and assisted bathing services operating from April to October, which can be booked in person or by calling 971 892 777.
-Environmental education and information, with awareness-raising activities that promote responsible and sustainable use of the coastline.

The Mayor, Fina Linares, expressed her satisfaction with the renewal of the distinction and emphasised that “this recognition reaffirms the Alcúdia City Council’s commitment to a responsible, inclusive, and sustainable tourism model that places people at the centre of public management.” She also emphasised the importance of a beach “designed not only for visitors, but also for the municipality’s residents, who live and care for it year-round.”
