Ports de les Illes Balears (PortsIB), part of the Regional Ministry of the Sea and the Water Cycle, has contracted the project to improve and reinforce the infrastructure of the Port in Puerto Pollensa.
Fonsan Gestion y Construccion won the tender and will be responsible for carrying out the work, with a total budget of €1,967,039.66 plus €103,599.03 for waste management, totalling €2,070,638.69.
The maintenance project, which will take around 18 months, will begin after the end of the summer season to minimise the impact of the works on port activities during the busiest months.
The planned actions include the extension of the piers and pillars of the pontoons, to improve their resistance and adapt them to current operational needs. Uneven surfaces will also be repaired, correcting the structural damage caused by erosion and wear. In addition, the slabs of the pontoons will be replaced, renewing the surface elements to improve safety and functionality for users.
These actions are part of the maintenance and improvement plan for port facilities that PortsIB is implementing to ensure a quality and sustainable service. This contract will allow for a significant improvement in the infrastructure of the Port, guaranteeing the safety and good condition of the pontoons.
