The Council of Pollensa and the Rotger Villalonga Foundation held a press conference this week to present the programme of activities to celebrate the 150th and 125th anniversary of the poems “Lo Pi de Formentor” and “La Leavea del Greek Genius”, respectively, by the Pollensa poet Miquel Costa i Llobera.

The activities are an initiative promoted by the Rotger Villalonga Foundation and the Council joined the initiative with an institutional declaration at the Municipal Plenary at the end of January.

Specifically, the following cultural acts are confirmed:

16th February, at 18:30, at the Monti-Sion Church: Poetic Concert by the Pollença Music Band and Sion Capçana (Rhapsode).

2nd March, at 19:00, at Can Costa: Sick Days. Poems and songs by Costa and Llobera and Peyró.

August 5, at the cloister of the Sant Domingo convent: Maria del Mar Bonet concert.
Â
October 30, at 20:00, at the Pollensa Church: Symphony Orchestra of the Balearic Islands.

During the course of 2025, the rest of the activities that will complement the schedule will be announced.

The presentation was attended by the president of the Rotger Villalonga Foundation, Pere Antoni Borras, the regional secretary of Culture of the Government of the Balearic Islands, Pedro Vidal, the island director of Culture, Guillem Ginard, the Councillor of Culture of the Pollensa City Council, Miquel Angel Sureda, and the Mayor of Pollensa, Martà March.
The Rotger Villalonga Foundation
The  Rotger Villalonga Foundation  is a private, non-profit cultural entity that was created by  Mr. Ignasi Rotger Villalonga  in  1979.Â
The Foundation’s primary objective is to study and disseminate knowledge of the memory and work of  Miquel Costa i Llobera  and promote cultural activities related to his life and work.
It also hosts and promotes other cultural, social, sporting, environmental and accommodation activities, as long as they do not conflict with the foundation’s purposes.
