Ep. 16 Barry Byrne from Soller joins us to talk about the Anti-Tourism Campaign

The chances are you know about or may have even experienced some anti-tourism sentiment that has increased over the last year or so. A huge protest took place just a couple of weeks ago. 

We talk to Barry who is behind the very informative page Uep! Soller Matters. His knowledge and take on the campaign is really interesting and in this podcast we talk about how things have moved since the pandemic – when we had real experience of unspoilt beaches and quiet towns. Tourism has boomed again and locals are left with real questions. 

While we are hit with sensational reporting in the UK tabloid press, this balanced consideration of the situation makes for some interesting listening, so enjoy!

Ep 13. Lucy & Jo to chat with Carys and learn all about her EFT Tapping project

One of the joys of living in the north of Mallorca is the people you share it with. The island draws people from all kinds of backgrounds who work in so many different areas.

This week, we met with Carys who opened our eyes to an amazing well-being tool that is literally at our fingertips, EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) Tapping.

Tapping is a self-help method that combines elements of cognitive therapy and acupressure to manage emotions and reduce stress. Carys is about to launch an app that will guide users so they can implement Tapping into their daily lives.

Her journey from dance to fitness training to this more holistic tool is fascinating and will resonate with all of us.

With Lucy a bit under the weather, Jo went solo over to Puerto Alcudia to meet up with Seamus of No Frills. Firmly established in the North, No Frills is the most comprehensive excursion service you can find.

Ep 11. Lucy & Jo Meet Toni Segui, Founder and Owner of Mallorca International School in Crestatx

Mallorca International School only came into existence in 2016, in just under 10 years this little project has become a great school with facilities and staff of the highest standard. Add to that its GCSE stellar success rate, it also has academic brilliance to add to its resumé.

More than anything though, Mallorca International School (known locally as MySchool) is a community with a shared experience for the students and families who belong there. We learn more about this with our conversation with Toni, as well as how the whole project came into being in the first place.

Ep 10. Lucy & Jo Meet Sven of Wine Tasting Mallorca, just before the Wine Fair Pollensa

It’s the Wine Fair in Pollensa this weekend, so what better time to meet up with Sven from Wine Tasting Mallorca. We chat about how the wine fair works and a bit more about wine in Mallorca.

Lucy and Jo also look at the weekend ahead, which aside from the wine fair, will see some incredible IronMen and Women compete in the latest edition of Ironman Mallorca 70.3. The swim and the run are in Puerto Alcudia and the cycle race is a loop taking in Puerto Pollensa, Pollensa, Lluc, Selva, Sa Pobla and Muro.

Ep 9. Lucy & Jo Meet Mays, the Functional Gut Nutritionist of 'Healthy Mays'

Mays is a qualified functional gut nutritionist and retreat leader. Now living in Mallorca, based in Palma, Mays runs a virtual clinic and helps her clients with nutrition that will heal the gut and liver; supporting clients in dealing with mould poisoning and balancing hormones, anxiety & weight control.
