For the first time, the Consell de Mallorca is organizing a hike along the Camí de Cavalls in Menorca for young people between 18 and 30 years old who live in Mallorca, with the aim of promoting outdoor activities. The trip will take place between 3-7 October (five days and four nights).
The Consell will subsidise up to 70% of each stay, resulting in a final price of €94.02, which includes direct round-trip ferry from Puerto Alcudia to the port of Ciutadella, the bus for travel around the island, a stay at the Sa Vinyeta hostel on a full-board basis (meals will consist of a picnic on the way) and travel insurance.
The hikers will take in the southern half of the Camí de Cavalls, starting from Ciutadella to Maó. The Minister of the Presidency, Antoni Fuster, has highlighted that “this experience offers a unique way of exploring the island and spending time in nature.”
Starting 11th September and until 17th September, young people who meet the age and residence requirements can pre-register for the “Camí de Cavalls” programme through the Electronic Headquarters of the Consell de Mallorca. Once the deadline has ended, a public draw will be held among the applications received to assign the places.
The complete five-day itinerary, departing from Ciutadella, passes through places such as Cape Artrutx, Cove En Turqueta, Cove Galdana, Cove Mitjana, Sant Tomàs, Son Bou, Cove En Porter, Binissafúller, Punta Prima and Sant Esteve to end in Maó.
