A total of €244k will be invested, with €100,000 allocated to 50 new tents with capacity for 348 people.

Alcudia News - president of Balearics visits La Victoria

Balearic President Margalida Prohens, announced the investment in the La Victòria camp, which is a recreational summer camp managed by the Balearic Institute of Youth (IBJOVE), with an average of 280 users per day. Aside from the new tents, this investment will pay for new wooden bases and an accessibility ramp, as well as maintenance works for guttering and drainage and the retaining walls of the camping area.

Together with the regional minister for Families and Social Affairs, Catalina Cirer, and the director of IBJOVE, Tomàs Amer, the President visited the La Victòria camp, where almost 10,000 young people will spend a week during their long summer break. “A space like this is essential, a leisure space for young people and families, a deep-rooted space. For this reason, we want it to have quality facilities to accommodate all those who come,” said Prohens.

In addition to the camping area, they were able to visit the dining rooms, bathrooms and library, and the latest adaptation works for people with reduced mobility. They also checked out the works carried out by the Balearic Institute of Nature (IBANAT): the improvement of the emergency exit and the safety strip for fire protection.
