Puerto Pollensa: Formentor Road, Revised and Reversed

Pollensa’s council has decided to reverse the controversial change in the direction of traffic on Calle de Formentor. This was announced last Thursday (13th June) on its social media channels alongside a new Master Plan for the public space of Puerto Pollensa.

It said that, “after a number of meetings”, it has been decided to recover the original direction of the Formentor Road. Likewise, other circulation innovations will be implemented during the month of June: c/Ecònom Torres will be in the direction of the c/Formentor; c/Llebeig Street will become a one-way street; and a change in direction will be applied in c/les Monges, c/Mestral and c/Verge del Carme.

Also announced were the plans to increase parking on Vicenç Buades, Metge Llopis and Roger de Flor streets and Avinguda Bocchoris.

There will also be measures to encourage parking on the ring road by introducing pedestrian crossings near the health centre and swimming pool so that people will be able to cross safely and signage will be improved to locate parking areas easily.
