David Gomez, Pollentia, 1 Piano & 200 Candles and 300 more Seats

In partnership with the Department of Culture and Heritage, the 100-year anniversary of excavations in Pollentia, Alcudia will be commemorated with a performance from Mallorcan pianist, David Gomez and his well-known 1 Piano & 200 Candles.

In fact, two large concerts in Pollentia and Bellpuig, were announced last week by the vice president of the Consell de Mallorca and Minister of Culture and Heritage, Antònia Roca. The first was to commemorate the 100 years of excavations in the Roman city of Pollentia, Alcudia, the second to mark the opening to the public of the monastery of Artà.

So popular are the 1 Piano & 200 Candles shows that tickets sold out in less than 24 hours. In response to this demand, explains Roca, capacity has been increased so that more people could attend. 300 new free tickets have already been made available to the public.

In her statement, Roca detailed that the famous pianist will bring his show 1 Piano & 200 Candles to these two very special places in Mallorca. In this way, says the vice president and councillor, “all the citizens of the island are invited to enjoy these two celebrations in two unrivalled places that will shine in the light of David Gómez’s 200 candles.”

The concert in the Roman city of Pollèntia (Alcudia) will take place on Saturday, September 7, at 20:30. The concert in Bellpuig (Artà), it will be on Saturday, September 28, at 20:00 and tickets will go on sale soon.

The objective, explains Roca, is to make known the great archaeological sites that exist in Mallorca and that, on many occasions, are unknown to the residents of the island.
