The Alcudia Auditorium held a commemorative gala yesterday to celebrate its 25th anniversary last weekend. This event brought together representatives from the cultural world, local authorities, and residents of the municipality and was attended by the President of the Balearic Islands Government, Marga Prohens; the Mayor of Alcúdia, Fina Linares; and the Councilor for Culture, Ángela Amer, all accompanied by the other councilors of the municipality, as well as former mayors and councilors of the municipality.
The event featured a lineup of top-level artists representing a wide variety of musical styles: blues-rock legend Javier Vargas; the Mediterranean voice of Mónica Molina; the Latin flavor of Caramelo de Cuba; and the international jazz of Deborah Carter. the power and sensitivity of Marilén Ribot; the flamenco fusion of Sonakay; the young talent Nadia Alkaari; and traditional Mallorcan music with Sarau Alcudienc.
Performances were accompanied by a live orchestra conducted by the renowned Toni Cuenca, in a show that also included live dance performances, adding a visual and expressive component to the evening. The gala was presented by journalist Margalida Socies.
During the evening, a tribute was paid to the auditorium’s history as one of the most emblematic cultural spaces in northern Mallorca. Since its inauguration, the Alcúdia Auditorium has hosted hundreds of music, theatre, dance, and film performances, consolidating its position as a benchmark in the island’s cultural offerings.
The event included live musical performances, audiovisual screenings reviewing the most notable moments of these two and a half decades, as well as institutional interventions that underscored the auditorium’s importance as a cultural and social driving force for the municipality. The Alcudia City Council thanked all attendees for their participation and reaffirmed its commitment to continue supporting culture, keeping the auditorium’s programming alive for present and future generations.
