Alcudiamar has joined the second edition of the Balearic Government’s Setmana Blava (Blue Week), an initiative aimed at bringing primary school children closer to the marine environment through educational and water-based activities.
Between 18 May and 4 June, almost 500 pupils from 10 schools across Mallorca, including Alcúdia, Binissalem, Sa Pobla and Cala Millor, visited Alcudiamar Watersports by Wind Pirates. The programme combined activities such as paddleboarding, sailing and kayaking with environmental talks and guided tours designed to promote respect for the sea and its ecosystems.
Blue Week, coordinated by the Balearic Sailing Federation and the Balearic Canoeing Federation, involved 26 marinas and sailing clubs, 68 primary schools and more than 3,300 students across the islands.
Bartomeu Bestard, President and CEO of Alcudiamar, said the initiative provides a unique opportunity for young people to discover life at a marina, often for the first time, and expressed his delight at Alcudiamar being able to take part.
Alcudiamar manages the marina in Port d’Alcúdia and has long promoted environmental responsibility and sustainable practices alongside recreational boating activities.
