In the local press this week is more news of the Mercadona Pollensa. This major project is a long time in the planning and more to come as it enters the next phase.Â

The supermarket has bought six plots in the Can Berenguer area (the Teixits Vicens Roundabout) totalling 8,441msq. Currently these six plots consist of various homes, including one swimming pool. It does NOT include the corner plot – home to LF91, the property business. Properties on these plots are due to be demolished and the formal grouping of the six plots, which are located in an area qualified as urban — and therefore developable according to the Territorial Plan of Mallorca, is currently in the drafting phase.
It’s been over 18 months since news quietly spread about the new venture and now the construction project has progressed to the next stage with its service provision project published on the government website, the Balearic Islands Water Portal, Portal del Agua de las Islas Baleares.
The period for corporations, entities and individuals to present objections will be open until November 29. Objections to the Mercadona Pollensa plans for provisions can be submitted to the General Directorate of Water Resources.
