Last weekend set the stage for the 13th edition of the wine fair in Pollença. It was a great event as usual, hosting 38 vineyards and bodegas from around Mallorca to showcase their vintages.
The event was hosted in the magnificent Claustre de Sant Domingo off the Cloisters Square, the setting remains as much a draw as the wines themselves and, thanks to the weather, created a great space for the event.
This year’s attendees included wineries such as Pere Seda, Macià Batle, Can Axartell, Binigrau, Mortitx, Son Prim, DO Montsant, Miquel Oliver, Weinwert, Dunord Vitícola and Can Xanet, to name a few.

Our Humble Take
Whilst we enjoy wine, we are no professional sommeliers, however, here is our take on some of the standouts from the weekend.
Among the more familiar wines that are commonly found in local restaurants in the north, several stood out. Pere Seda’s Blanc showed particularly well, offering a fresh and approachable style. Mortitx presented a strong lineup, with Flaires, a popular blush rosé, and Rodal Pla (red) both very well received. Can Axartell’s wines were solid across the board, consistent with their established presence on the island.
Binigrau drew steady attention throughout. Their wines are widely recognised, with Nounat often cited as one of their most popular bottles, something reflected in how quickly it tends to disappear from shelves. Alongside it, Binigrau Blanc offered a slightly different profile, a lovely crisp white, fruitier and noticeably drier.
Beyond the more familiar names, there were also some standout producers we were less familiar with. The Miquel Oliver (Petra) range impressed, particularly the Muscat, which was a lovely light and fruity dry white wine which in contrast to all the other flavours on the palate was a welcome delight. Another that we had little knowledge of other than their excellent olive oil, was Can Feliu from Porreres, where we tasted a lovely red, i believe it was the Can Feliu Merlot.
Overall, the event was a great success and it continues to serve as both an introduction for newcomers and a point of interest for those already familiar with the island’s vineyards, as well as a jolly nice way to spend a saturday or sunday afternoon!
